- Milk which meets standards of excellence set by the Japan Milk Fair Trade Conference, and which contains only raw milk as its ingredient, may be labeled as ‘Specialty’ or ‘Carefully Selected’.
Standards of Excellence
Milk Fat 3.5% or more
Non fat Milk Solids 8.5% or more
Bacterial Count not more than 100,000 bacteria / ml
Somatic Cell Count * not more than 300,000 cells / ml
* Somatic cell count is one of the indicator to measure the health condition of dairy cows.
