Yotsuba Q&A

Can butter be stored frozen?
Yes, butter can be stored frozen.

For a convenient way to use butter, divide the butter into single-use portions, and let it defrost in the refrigerator as needed. To keep butter from drying out, wrap it in plastic wrap before freezing.
When frozen, butter will keep longer than in the refrigerator. However, household freezers are frequently opened, which the temperature inside the freezer tends to be high. For this reason, we do not recommend storing frozen butter for very long periods.
