Yotsuba Q&A

What is the churning method?
It is a method of producing butter using a traditional device called "churn".

In the past, butter was mainly made by using this “churn” with stirring the cream vigorously.
Modern butter making is based on the same principle, but nowadays, most butter is made with more efficient devices called ‘continuous butter making machines’.
We still choose the traditional process to make our ‘Yotsuba Traditionally Churning Butter (Jar)’, ‘Yotsuba Fermented Butter (Jar)’, ‘Hokkaido Yotsuba Butter (Exclusively available in Hokkaido)’, and ‘Hokkaido Fermented Butter (Exclusively available in Hokkaido)’. These products are all handmade using oldfashioned churns, which takes time and requires artisanal technique.
